Food Tech - French Toast

Today in Food Technology we made some french toast, here is the recipe we used:

Step 1 - Whisk 4 eggs with 1/2 cup of milk.
Step 2 - Tip in the bread and fry until golden-brown.
Step 3 - Put it on the plate, take a photo and eat.

We all enjoyed making the french toast and also eating it.

Plastic Bag Ban

Today I read an article on the Government's decision to ban plastic bags.
I agree with the government's decision to ban plastic bags because it could prevent a lot of bad things from happening to the country for example, death upon animals, global warming and more.
The impact this will have on the country is it will give the country a decreased chance of pollution or global warming. The decision to ban plastic bags is smart because it helps make New Zealand safer and cleaner.

Migration Model

The migration model is used to show the push and pulls of why people would migrate. It shows reasons why people leave their country of origin and reasons why they would move to a new place of destination. It also shows why they might not migrate which is known as the intervening obstacles. One of the push reasons why people would want to migrate to

another country of destination is because they can get better education. One of the pull reasons why they wouldn’t want to migrate is they miss their family. In the case of my migration model, the

two different countries that it talks about is Tokelau and NZ. Tokelau being the Country of Origin and

NZ being the Country of Destination.

Change - Tokelau

One of the changes in Tokelau is that the weather is changing due to a climate change. It starts to get hot then the ice in the ocean starts to melt which allows the level of the sea to start rising. When this happens it allows storms and rain to appear. Now in Tokelau their beaches and stuff have been taken over and they have to build houses other places now. I think that this change is not good because it is making the Tokelauans do lots of work to survive.

Another change is the role change in Tokelau. In Tokelau the women are now allowed to attend council meetings. I think that this change was a good decision to make because it portrays equality and it shows that they allow women to do what they want and what is right.

Tokelau Paragraph

Paragraph about Tokelau’s problems.

One of Tokelau’s problems is that their population is decreasing and most of the people that they’re losing

are the skilled people and Tokelau’s youth. Another problem is that they are having to migrate to NZ or

Australia to get a better education or to go to another school because the schools in Tokelau only go up to

Form 4. Those 2 problems both connect because the reason the youth leaves and the population goes

down is because they leave to go to other countries to get a better education and go to another school

and. When they go to other countries some of them don’t want to go back to Tokelau. The last problem

i’d like to cover is that they do not have power or internet to connect with people from other countries so

they have to travel by ship. There is 3 problems in Tokelau.

Social Studies - 2 Concepts

In Social Studies we learnt about 7 different concepts and the different meanings of these concepts.
Here are 2 of them.

The first concept I would like to define is Change. Change means to make something different or become different. It could refer to change in cultural things, change in schools or change in behaviour. For example, today in school we use netbooks to do our learning and back in the olden days they used book and pen.

The second concept I would like to define is Globalisation. The definition of globalisation is businesses or organisations that are in more than just a few countries. It also refers to ways that different countries can connect eg. wifi.
